OUR MISSION

We inspire our students to become lifelong learners, to think critically and creatively, and to lead with courage, compassion, and character.

DIVERSITY CREDO

What We Stand For

We believe in and celebrate our core values, at the center of which is respect. We strive to create a genuine feeling of welcome, inclusivity, and belonging for families of all races, cultures, religions, socio-economic status, perspectives, identities, and family structures who share and demonstrate our core values of respect, compassion, kindness, fairness, and a desire to understand and appreciate each other’s differences. A diverse community expands our capacity for understanding and compassion, and deepens our respect for each other.

Extra-WOW

Fine arts. Athletics. STEM. World Languages. Character education….It’s all part of our program.

Ready to Make a Difference

Service learning fosters a humanitarian spirit right from the start.

Buzzworthy Learning

After a visit to an apiary, fourth graders created multimedia presentations on the plight of the honeybee. Here, learning is hands-on and cross-curricular. The results are buzzworthy!

Watch Them Gogh

Art appreciation begins at LCDS. Don’t be surprised when your preschooler comes home and presents you with a creative rendition of one of van Gogh’s masterpieces.

Growing Together

Seventh graders hydroponically raised vegetables in science class, then planted them at a retreat for combat veterans. It’s just one example of LCDS’s organically-integrated service learning.
