Early Education Admissions Process

Our early learning program welcomes each student into our community and lays the critical foundation for future success.


Parents and students are invited to schedule a guided tour of our beautiful campus or attend an open house to learn more about our program.


Preschool applicants should be three years old before the start of the school year.

Prekindergarten applicants should be four years old before the start of the school year.

Kindergarten applicants should be five years old before the start of the school year.

Preschool applicants participate in a one-hour activity session with two teachers and a small group of applicants.

Prekindergarten applicants participate in a teacher-led 90-minute activity session with other applicants.

Kindergarten applicants participate in a teacher-led 90-minute activity session with other applicants.

All families may register for an activity session with the Admissions office.


recommendation form should be completed by an instructor or daycare provider. Please share this link or provide with your child’s teacher(s) with copies of this form.

Prekindergarten applicants must complete the 30-minute DIAL developmental screening assessment administered at LCDS. Screenings are scheduled daily by appointment with the Director of Admissions.

Kindergarten applicants must complete the WPPSI (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence). 
This standard cognitive assessment is administered by a licensed clinical psychologist. Test results should not be more than a year old. A list of area testing providers who can provide this service is available in the Admissions Office.

Application Timeline

  • Late Fall – February 1st
    Applications are accepted for first consideration. Late applications and mid-year enrollment applications are considered upon space availability.
  • January – February
    Prospective students attend scheduled activity sessions or classroom visits. All documentation, including testing results, recommendations and transcripts are due.

Enrollment consideration is given upon completion of the admissions process and receipt of all necessary documentation. In accordance with AISGW guidelines, notification of admission decisions shall be no earlier than March 1, 2019.
