Catherine Fox joined the staff of LCDS in 2010. She earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of North Carolina, obtained her teaching credentials from Virginia Wesleyan College and earned an M.S. in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. Her teaching career began in Maine, where she taught third grade and served as a grade-level facilitator for her school district. She truly believes that one of the keys to successful learning is a love of school. Therefore, she makes it a priority to create a safe, positive learning environment for her students. She enjoys connecting with students through their interests outside the classroom and working with families to help children have a successful fourth-grade experience. When Catherine is not teaching, she enjoys reading, cooking and cheering for the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Virginia Tech Hokies. Catherine’s proudest accomplishments are being a Navy (retired) wife and a mother.
