Diane Bolavage began teaching at LCDS in 2002. She was born and raised in Northern New Jersey and has fond memories of spending many summers at the Jersey Shore. Diane graduated from the University of Maryland and received her M.Ed in Special Education: Learning Disabilities from the American University. While at AU, Diane worked at the Lab School of Washington, where she spent an invaluable year learning a multi-sensory approach to teaching diverse learners. Diane began her teaching career with the Arlington Public School system as a resource teacher and fourth-grade classroom teacher. An avid reader herself, Diane enjoys watching the excitement of a child learning to read and hopes to instill a lifetime love of reading in all of her students. In her spare time, Diane enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, taking long walks with her dogs and reading the latest mystery novel.
