Josie Sheatsley joined the LCDS faculty in 2007. An honors graduate of the University of Virginia Curry School of Education, Josie has over 20 years of experience teaching in private and public schools. She has taught every level of mathematics from Math 6 to Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry, in both middle and high schools. She considers her position at LCDS to be “teacher heaven” because she gets to teach high school math to middle school students! Josie believes that the best way to help her students learn is to develop a personal relationship with each child and to provide a safe environment for them to express concerns and questions. She is passionate about her subject matter and works hard to provide meaningful and engaging lessons for her students. In her spare time, she enjoys knitting, reading and binge-watching British TV shows.
