Karinna Bordas  (“Señora Bordas,” as her students call her) began teaching Spanish at LCDS in 2015. She was born in Venezuela, and she and her family moved to the U.S. in 2010. She has a B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism from the Catholic University, and an M.A. in Education from the Metropolitan University, both of them in Caracas, Venezuela. She has completed numerous child education courses, and has more than 20 years of experience as a preschool director, teacher, and tutor, working with students from three to twelve years old. One of her earlier teaching memories is when she was the lead teacher in a 1984 bilingual Spanish-English Summer camp that was directed by the American embassy in Caracas. Teaching has been her life-long passion. She enjoys it so much that she teaches piano to young children in her free time.
