Samantha Newbold began teaching at LCDS in 2018. She received her B.A. in Art from the University of Mary Washington, later getting licensed in Elementary Education, Middle School Mathematics and Algebra I. More recently, she received her M.T. in Special Education from the University of Virginia. Samantha has experience teaching a spectrum of ability levels and comes from working as a public school special education teacher at the middle school level. She loves inspiring young learners to find their own answers through self-discovery and using a hands-on approach with teacher guidance. She believes in encouraging independence and giving choice as a means to promote ownership over the student’s own learning and environment.  On a personal note, she now lives in Round Hill with her husband, Mike, her two children, Spencer and Clara, and her dog, Mario. During her free time, she enjoys painting, reading (and lots of it!), heading to the beach and hiking the Appalachian Trail!
