Joyful Learning Spaces

Our secure campus is nestled on 70 pastoral acres within one of the fastest-growing technology corridors in the U.S. The unique, custom design of the main academic building allows students from preschool through eighth grade to learn in a shared facility, while providing just the right amount of separation between the Lower School and Middle School. From spacious, sunlit classrooms to the cozy reading nook in the library’s stained-glass silo, the architecture inspires collaboration and creativity.

Natural Beauty

We believe in the importance of learning in nature. The expansive, rolling hills of the LCDS campus serve as classrooms for our robust outdoor education program and provide our students with plenty of room to run and explore. Faculty foster a strong sense of environmental stewardship among the student body and our garden lab gives students the opportunity to engage in environmental conservation and to learn about native plants in the area. Our garden lab has been established as a Certified Wildlife Sanctuary by the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy (Audubon at Home program).

Integrated Technology

Located within the Dulles Tech Corridor, we have a deep understanding of the role technology plays in learning. All LCDS students are provided with age-appropriate access to a wide variety of resources. We have a wide collection of grade-specific devices and applications to enhance learning throughout our program, including ipads, chromebooks, and laptops. All students have access to fully equipped STEM labs and, as part of our STEM curriculum, students learn about digital citizenship and develop their understandings of how technology works and the role it plays in our society.
