Second Graders Learn What It Takes to Open a Business

At LCDS, we don’t just teach core subjects—we emphasize real-life, practical experiences that prepare our students for the future. This week, one of our second-grade sections embarked on an exciting journey into the world of entrepreneurship. Through hands-on learning, they discovered what it takes to start a business—from earning money through hard work to making smart financial decisions.
With their earnings, students rented their own shop spaces, purchased supplies, and carefully crafted their products. Their creativity shined as they developed a variety of unique items, including homemade knit flowers, cards and drawings, colorful magnets, adorable plush toys, engineered paper airplanes, homemade dough, and beautifully designed fans.

Beyond the fun of creating and selling, these young entrepreneurs gained valuable life lessons in responsibility, financial literacy, and perseverance. Their enthusiasm and dedication were inspiring, proving that it's never too early to dream big and work hard toward success!
